Project Summary:
Supreme Industries preformed site work for the above project which consisted of developing a 46.7 acre parcel of land bordering the CT Water watershed for the Killingworth reservoir.
Incorporated in the work was the development of six ball fields, excavation and back fill for three building foot prints totaling 135,000 sf., site paving and landscaping. The site conditions required a CT D.P.H. water system consisting of three private wells, booster pump station and under ground storage system. Because of the sites close proximity to the water shed and surrounding wet lands the site required a CT D.E.P. septic system. The system included 50,000 cy of imported septic fill, HDPE liner, and an Amphidrome waste treatment system. Project start 2/05 complete 10/06
Project operations:
- Install and maintain 22,000 lf of silt fence and hay bails protecting wetlands and watershed
- Clear cut, stump and remove 32 acres of treed area
- 200,000 cy of site cuts and fills
- Blast and process 90,000 cy of on site rock into various aggregates for site requirements
- Excavate and backfill foundations, interior plumbing and electrical for 135,000 sf of building foot prints.
- Install 4 particle separators, 69 catch basins and 6,500 lf of storm drainage piping
- Build two 40,000 sf detention ponds with outlet structures
- Install 5,000 sf of segmented retaining walls.
- Install three 500 foot deep private wells
- Install concrete water vault with booster station and 25,000 gal. ground concrete storage tanks conforming to CT D.P.H. standards
- Install a sewer pumping station and concrete wet well
- Construct D.E.P. regulated septic system consisting of 50,000 cy import septic fill, 132,000 sf HPDE liner and amphidrome waste water treatment system
- Screen 20,000 cy of on site topsoil for ball fields and landscaping.
- Create six ball fields totaling 300,000 sf. Import and install 10,000 cy of sand drainage layer, field drainage, topsoil and seed.
- Provide various athletic equipment
- 200,000 sf of parking lots and pavement
- Install extensive landscaping including over 280 trees and over 2,000 plantings
- Create wetland mitigation areas.
