Project Summary:
Supreme Industries, Inc. is performing the site work for the above project which consists of developing a 40 acre parcel of land. The proposed project schedule was aggressive which dictated substantial completion of certain phases to satisfy the Towns requirements. The project site work is currently 90% complete and Supreme Industries is ahead of the proposed schedule with a projected early spring completion date. Incorporated in the work is the addition of a 45,000 Sq.Ft. building foundation, the development of paved access drives and paved parking lots, the creation of a seven acre wetland/mitigation site, the construction of eight tennis courts, a 400 meter running track, and the development of fourteen acres for sport fields and improvements. (Total of 10 ball fields - consisting of soccer, softball, baseball and field hockey).
Site conditions dictated earth excavation (approx. 90,000 cy) and the drilling and blasting of rock (approx. 32,000 cy) and onsite processing of materials (approx. 60,000 cy) which was necessary to balance the quantities of onsite materials for the proposed work. Installation of typical site utilities including storm drainage (including storm drainage treatment system and detention facility), sanitary lines, water mains and electrical, including electrical duct banks encased in concrete.
Environmental compliance and adherence to permit regulations were maintained utilizing the 2002 Connecticut Guidelines for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control and Best Management Practices in conjunction with DOT, OEP, and DEP officials. Sediment, erosion, and managing storm water was accomplished through the use of standard sedimentation control systems combined with the use of temporary slope drains and sedimentation traps. Located within the project limits are sensitive environmental areas such as water course (Spring Lot Brook), several ponds, (South Pond, North Pond, McVeagh Pond). (South Pond is used by the CT. Water Co. as a local reservoir).
